Visitor FAQs

Do I need to buy tickets in advance?

We highly recommend booking in advance to secure entry and avoid disappointment. Your ticket allows you to come and go as you please throughout the day.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Yes, a limited number of day tickets may be available for purchase at the festival reception desk on the day of the event, but due to venue capacity, these will be first-come, first-served.

Are workshops included in the main ticket?

Yes. Your admission ticket will also allow you to attend any workshops. However, due to limitations on space and materials, you will have to reserve a workshop ticket separately. Select your preferred workshop(s) and reserve a ticket free of charge. Check our WORKSHOPS page regularly for updates.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone offers extensive on-site parking for all festival attendees. There is also nearby street parking should it be required.

Is food available on site?

Yes. The hotel has it's on-site restaurant, The Marina Club, which offers light bites and snacks to full meals, ensuring you stay fuelled for a day of crafting. Also, because the venue is located in the centre of Athlone, there are plenty of restaurants within just a 5-10 minute walk, as well.

Are children welcome to attend?

Yes! Children under 12 can even attend for free!

We warmly welcome crafters of all ages, but would ask that children aged 15 and under are accompanied by an adult. The festival is a family-friendly event, and we hope the vibrant colours and community spirit will inspire visitors of all ages.

What should I bring with me?

If you choose to attend a workshop, we suggest bringing your current fibre projects, your favourite needles or hooks (if the workshop requires), and a notebook for all the inspiration you'll find throughout the journey.

And - most importantly - don't forget your wallet and a bag big enough to take home all the great finds you come across from our exhibitor's marketplace!

How can I buy items from the vendor marketplace?

Many vendors offer options to pay by card, but there is also an AIB bank just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel, so we suggest also bringing some cash with you.
